The Bridge at the Texas/Mexican Border

The Bridge at the Texas/Mexican Border

Study #2 of the political strife in the USA and the separation of children from their families due to immigration law. This piece depicts one of the bridges crossing into Mexico. Though the sky is blue, the clouds are brewing a storm. The walls of the bridge tell the stories of those who have crossed this way. They close around the traveler. There are not choices to look out upon the water or consider the other options they would dare to dream of travel. The ground has the yellow like my Wall of Shame, harkening back to the Yellow Brick Road, daring a happier home. Yet, blood marks the road on this walled in bridge. There is hope. There is fear. There is courage.
